Adding Articles To Your Datafeed Site
Adding articles to your new affiliate gardening site involves uploading a text file to your web site.
The important points are:
- Your article needs to be a text file, for instance, "rose-bushes.txt".
- The text file needs to be named EXACTLY like you want it to appear on your site. If your text file is "rose-bushes.txt", then the page that gets displays your article on your site is "http://www.example.com/rosh-bushes.html".
- The text file needs to be in the same directory as THE SCRIPT.
This short 3 minute video shows you how to upload a text file using a FTP program (I use SmartFTP)

And as an added bonus, the last 30 seconds include some music from the a movie of the 1970s. Enjoy.

Thanks.
And tell your son that was not a bad rendition.
Take care.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for tip and the good trumpet playing. Your son has great intonation!
Well I tried your directions per the video. I wrote an article for my gardening accessories section. Named it Gardening-Accessories.txt but the script is not reading it.
I even tried to access the article directly thru the url address and it is still not reading.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Curt

Hi Curt,
Try this.
Edit the config.php file and change $cache="on" to $cache="off". Now reload your garden-accessories page.
Once you confirm that it displays the article, edit the config.php again and change the value of $cache back to on.

Hi Dave,
Yep! Looks great.
Do you have any idea why there was a delay? Is there anything that I should be aware of when I add other articles?
Thanks for your help,
Curt

Curt,
I don't know about the delay.
Just note, that with the cache turned on, your page won't update until the number of days to cache has past. In your case, 7 days.
Or you can always turn the cache off to see results right away (not sure why your results didn't show up right away).

Hello Dave;
I looked around and didn't see a price for your script. Please direct me to your pricing page, so I can direct others ...

Hi Art Deco,
I haven't released this to the general public yet ... but when I do, I'll make it obvious.

Hi Dave,
Since I'm very new to all of this I have no idea how you got to the page that was split where you dragged the subjects from one side to the other. Can you explain where you go to do that?
